After a rocky stretch in her life and career, everything now appears to be going Demi Lovato's way.
The 20-year-old pop singer appeared as a guest on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday in New York City to promote her new album Demi, which shot to number one on iTunes in 50 countries the day after it was released.
'It feels good because it came out yesterday,' Lovato said gleefully, after mimicking her face on the album cover when Fallon displayed the record for the cameras.

Lovato also revealed she had a new tattoo, inspired by the song Warrior on the new album, a tribute to overcoming some really difficult things in her life.That rocky stretch occurred between the end of 2010 and beginning of 2011, during which she punched a back-up singer, was diagnosed bipolar disorder and entered an inpatient treatment facility to deal with bulimia, self-injury and abuse of drugs and alcohol.

'I've been through a lot,' the singer and television personality explained on the show. 'I'm really, really honest on this album.'As if new body art weren't enough promotion for the new record, Lovato tells Fallon she spent the day driving around New York City, shouting out of a cab that they should check out her new album and that it was really great.Coincidentally, one of the people she drove up next to and shouted at happened to be Ben Stiller.'It was the craziest, most random thing ever!' Lovato swore.

Demi also talked about her relationship with Simon Cowell on the X Factor.

'There's a HUGE age difference, but we get along,' Lovato said of her 53-year-old co-host. 'I don't think he likes getting old. But he loves our friendship.'
She and Cowell are the only two confirmed judges returning for the next season of the hit Fox competition series, though the singer says they are holding auditions for more hosts next week.
'I have a little idea but it's not confirmed,' Lovato teased, not revealing any more to Fallon' speculation that one of the new judges may be Lady Gaga.
She also appears to have developed a healthy sense of humor about her rocky past, primarily dealing with substance abuse.

When fellow guest Julie Bowen of the sitcom Modern Family said they should play beer pong and then took it back because Lovato was underage, the young singer was quick on the comeback.
'That doesn't matter because I've already been to rehab,' Lovato said to uproarious of laughter from both the crowd and Fallon himself.
